Hello, I've been using my HP computer for two years now. Just last week I went to open the laptop and heard a sickening crack. Despite only experiencing regular use, the rightmost hinge now refuses to move without risking damage to the monitor of the laptop. Unfortunately I am out of warranty and haven't been able to call without paying to use the out of warranty phone support. As far as I know this is an issue in the design of these computers rather than a fault of the consumer, as the hinges are metal but their inserts are just cheap plastic. What are my options and is there any way I can get it repaired by HP due to this being the manufacturers fault?

What is the amount of the fee? Is that a smaller amount than buying a replacement computer?
I don't think that you are the first to have the specific problem. So, HP may have a "secret warranty" for your computer.
Maybe, if you pay the fee, and that "secret warranty" kicks in, will HP refund the fee?

Thanks for the response, in regards to what the out of warranty phone support I looked back and it seems the phone support I was looking at was geared more toward tech issues rather than hardware and warranty discussions. There's a photo of that site below. As of now though I haven't been able to find a general phone number to reach HP customer service. Is there a number or email I can use regarding this issue specifically?

@TristanMabee -- I am not sure what you really want.
When I do a search: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/message?advanced=false&allow_punctuation=false&q...
there are MANY similar posts about the hinge in the X360. In many of them, several HP employees made exactly the same response, indicating that there will be a "private message" sent to the author of the post, indicating that HP knows about the issue, and is willing to repair an out-of-warranty hinge, at no cost to the author.
If you contact HP, and refer to some of those posts, you should get a similar response.
