The BIOS/POST language is in Japanese, not English, and I need English. HP sent me to smart-support, and it could not diagnose the problem.
I can't navigate around the Japanese menu.

Issue: BIOS/POST language on your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000i is showing in Japanese, and you need it in English.
Solution: Even though the menu is in Japanese, you can still navigate to the language settings using the location of menu items (since the layout is identical across languages). Here’s a step-by-step guide:
How to Change BIOS Language from Japanese to English:
Turn on (or restart) your PC, then immediately and repeatedly tap the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup.
Once in BIOS:
Use the right arrow key (→) to move to the 5th tab from the left (usually labeled "Advanced" (高度な) or similar in English).
Then use the down arrow key (↓) to find the language setting—this is typically the last or second-to-last item in that tab.
Press Enter.
You’ll now see a list of available languages. Use the arrow keys to select English or:
Press Enter to confirm the language change.
Press F10 again to save changes and exit. Confirm by selecting Yes (typically the left option when prompted).
If the steps above don’t work, or if the BIOS menu looks different:
Try resetting the BIOS to default settings by:
Entering BIOS (F10)
Pressing F9 to load defaults (you’ll be prompted -select the left/first option)
Then press F10 to save and exit.
That should restore the system’s default language (usually English, unless it was factory set to Japanese).
Let me know if you need a screenshot or translated labels!
Kind Regards,

5th Tab from the left. OK, I managed to find the 4th tab from the left, and it worked.
As it finally turned out, I hired a translator, and they determined that the foreign language was Chinese, not Japanese.

If your BIOS/POST language is set to Japanese and you're unable to navigate it, here are some steps to help switch it to English:
Option 1: Use Visual Navigation (Based on Common BIOS Layouts)
Most BIOS menus follow a similar structure, even across languages. Here's what you can try:
Turn on your PC and immediately press the ESC, F10, or DEL key repeatedly (usually F10 for HP) to enter the BIOS.
Once inside the BIOS (even in Japanese), look for a tab or option with the word "言語" (language).
Select that menu option, and look for "English" in the list.
Sometimes it's under the last tab or under something that looks like "System Configuration" or "Advanced".
Use arrow keys and Enter to select English, then F10 to save and exit.

Option 2: Reset BIOS to Defaults
This may revert the language to English if it was changed:
Enter BIOS using ESC or F10.
Press F9 (this is usually the shortcut for "Load Setup Defaults").
Confirm (usually the left option = Yes).
Press F10 to save and exit.
Option 3: Clear CMOS (Advanced)
If you can't navigate at all:
Power off the laptop.
Unplug it and remove the battery if possible.
Open the back cover and remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes, then reinsert it.
This will reset the BIOS, including the language setting in some cases.
If these steps don't work, HP Support should escalate the issue. You can also ask for a translated guide or remote assistance from their technical support, not Smart-Support AI, which is limited in handling language issues.
Let me know your model number if you'd like step-by-step help based on your exact BIOS screen.
