I decided to clean the inside of my HP with a compressed can of air. When I finished my internal E: drive was disconnected and I keep getting messages to reconnect it. I have tried numerous ways to reconnect it but nothing works. I use it as a backup drive. I have no idea what to do next.

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!
I imagine you checked the E: drive's power and data cables for proper connections both on the drive and your motherboard?
Not knowing what desktop or what drive you are working with, after you power off your PC, disconnect from power, and having pushed in your power-off button for three seconds in order to release any residual charge, I would suggest reconnecting the E: drive's data cable (assuming this is a SATA HDD or SSD) to a different SATA data connector on your motherboard.
Repeat with using a different SATA 15-pin power cable connector if your E: drive is still not connecting. This way you can see if there's something wrong with your drive.
Kind Regards,
