I bought a new Envy AOI 27-b255qd computer and would like to remove the keyboard/mouse dongle which i believe to be internal. How does one get inside to accomplish this? Thanks.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
Yes, the keyboard and mouse dongle on your computer is internal and you need to open the base of the computer to access the dongle.
If you are looking for a replacement I recommend you contact support as all the replacements and hardware is handled by the support team.
Here is how you can get in touch with the tech support.
1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

OK. I found out how to do it and don't want to take base apart to get at the dongle. I upgraded my keyboard/mouse by using an external dongle for them and all seems to be working. But now the HP wireless keyboard/mouse are useless (want to use on my old desktop) without the dongle. Can I get a new/replacement?

Thanks for the help. I did contact tech support and found out that they do not sell the receiver/dongle separate and I would have to buy a new keyboard/mouse combo (with a new dongle). Bummer. I did not get a clear explanation as to what technology the dongle uses (bluetooth, 2.4 ghz, etc.), so I'm putting the subject aside for now.

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
The keyboard and mouse use Wireless technology: Two-way 2.4 GHz radio frequency. Please refer to the below link for the product specifications of your computer.
Hope that helps.
Good day! Take care 🙂
Cheers!
