Hp Compaq 6200 PRO SFF
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So i Have a Hp Compaq 6200 PRO SFF-

CPU: Intel Pentium G620

RAM; 12 GB

Built in Intel HD Graphics.

I saw online that i could upgrade my PC to Intel i5-3470 3.2GHz 6MB 5GT/s SR0T8 LGA1155.

So i purchased it and inserted it but every time i tried to start the PC, it gives 5 beeps with no red light and doesn't boot. but once i insert my previous processor it boots.

What am i doing wrong? any help??

Hi, @Bambino1

Your PC has the Intel Q65 chipset which does not support 3rd gen processors.

The best processor you can upgrade to is the i7-2600.

See the HP quickspecs at the link below for the supported processor upgrades...

Sounds like your old BIOS cannot handle your upgrade. You might have to update BIOS to get everything working.

I have updated the bios to the latest version.
