Ok I installed a Graphics card days ago that plugs straight into the board, it has been working great. It is not over heating, has plenty of airflow, and I have done everything I have read to do. It has a green light that goes away when I try to turn it on. Any ideas? Ok so I did take out the graphics card and it starts up, and its only a 70w power supply, so I assume I need to upgrade my power supply, because the graphics card appears to be fine and it has its own fan. Suggestions on a new power supply

@JosephBauman1,

It is always a challenge to assist others. We (volunteers) ask some basic questions, and usually get some answers. Then again, sometimes we are ignored ! :HalfEyes: I need to know the exact GPU card to determine the needed power curve.  It was likely all you needed was a 500-550W PSU. Such would have fitted into the existing case.

You ordered a new case, with a 700W PSU. There will be problems.

1) The HP motherboard has a backplate that the rear connectors slide into to stabilize those connectors.

2) Your new case must accept this backplate.

3) The power switch wiring on the new case will have to be custom rewired to conform the HP standards.

4) The slim-tray DVD drive is thinner height than a standard DVD drive.  The power cable might be the micro lead, which the new PSU will not have. Add more $$ for a new DVD/RW drive.

@JosephBauman1

What is the exact model and manufacturer of this GPU card?

According to the HP support page, your unit has an 180W PSU.  What card plugged into the slot, and fit.

Could you measure the overall card , L x W.   The height is nominal 4.3", unless you installed a low profile card.

This would be of great value to the community, as the motherboard is a "Lubin", and has issued with long/wide cards.

It's a 4GB Graphics card, that goes into a standard size single slot, and had a built on fan. I have ordered a new tower case for custome computer, with a 700w power supply. I did not realize till I did more research today that it is a 180w. Which really surprised me that they would even put on that low in the first place. Since it powers on without the graphics card inserted, then its most likely a power supply issue, im just curious do the fact that it did work for a couple days, but I also raised the graphic lvls to max mabe 2hrs before it crashed.. No solenoid are blown so its prob a safty turn

GeForce GT 730 4GB GDDR3 128bit PCI exsress, also every power supply I found over 300w the size would be to large to allow room for the graphics card, which is already tight. The new case supports the motherboard, and the power supply comes with everything I currently have on the HP as well with extras to spare.. The graphics card draws 75w on max output which is why it crashed because I put graphics on max roughly 1hr before it crashed. Currently the computer is working with the card out. I couldn't believe that the hp only have 180w to begin with i figured it would have been at least 300w so I didn't look

@JosephBauman1,

Thank you for the update.  Units with the Lubin and Willows motherboards have been a nightmare.

Wishing you the best of luck with your creation.  Does the motherboard power header look like this wiring?
