Possibly this will work as I see 600 g3 listed

https://www.ebay.com/itm/195871755950?_skw=hp+prodesk+600+g3+power+supply

look at the picture to check the connectors.

Its kinda expensive but will it be able to handle 24gb ddr4,2tb hdd,128gb ssd,gtx 1660ti?

The 1660Ti consumes 120 watts max and 300 watt power supply is recommended according to TPU

I spent some time looking for HP part number for alternative power supplies.   I did not find anything listed at the HP parts finder

https://partsurfer.hp.com/

The vendor lists a lot of HP systems and the 600 G3 is one of them but I was unable to find proof that it fits.

Our upgrade expert @NonSequitur777 found that a 250 watt was best fit here and recommended the RTX-3050 due to it lower power consumption.  I am only guessing the 400 will fit due to the vendor listing it.

I have GTX-1660Ti in an HP Z400 system and it is big and does put out a lot of heat.

@BeemerBiker,

An HP ProDesk 600 G3 MT was one of my upgrade projects, and the OP can use a 400-watt power supply with p/n: 942332-001.  This power supply can power up to a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4060.

Kind Regards,

It sounds like you're running into a bit of a compatibility issue with the PSU and the cables needed for your GTX 1660 Ti. The HP ProDesk 600 G3 MT typically uses a 250W PSU, which is indeed underpowered for gaming, especially with a GPU like the GTX 1660 Ti. You’re right to consider upgrading the PSU, but the cable and connector situation can be tricky.

Here’s a breakdown of what you can do:

  1. Upgrade the PSU:
    You’ll need to get a more powerful PSU (at least 500W) that is capable of supporting your GPU. A standard ATX PSU should work, but you'll need to ensure it's the correct size for your case (the HP ProDesk 600 G3 MT uses a smaller form factor PSU).

  2. Connector Compatibility:
    The "7-pin" connector you mentioned is likely a proprietary connector used by HP’s original PSU. Most modern ATX PSUs won’t come with these connectors.

    • Solution: You can buy an adapter that converts the proprietary HP 7-pin connector to a standard 24-pin ATX connector
