I can expand memory up to 8gb for HP Pavilion dv2000 / RE178AV Notebook?

Hi:

 

According to the service manual, your notebook supports a max of 2 x 1 GB of memory.

Maybe you can experiment with 2 x 2 GB of memory but 2 x 4 GB will definitely not work.
