HP Desktop - M01-F0026na
Microsoft Windows 11

My processor is a Ryzen 5 3400G and my motherboard is an erica2, I think my PSU is 80W, but not certain.

I want to install an RX6500xt in it, and read about a thread that said I would have to upgrade PSU, is this correct? If so, what PSU would you reccomend?

Please reply to me if you need any more details!

Thanks,

OrangeGherkin

There is a different model number (M01-F0027na) in the Subject than in the post (M01-F0026na).  However, they both have basically the same specifications.

Your PSU is 180W.  The motherboard in your computer is HP proprietary. It has a 4-pin power connector instead of a standard 24-pin ATX power connector. You will have to buy any PSU upgrade from HP.

The RX 6500 XT requires a minimum of 400W to operate properly.  HP has a 500W (L05757-800) PSU that I believe should be compatible with your motherboard.  However, I suggest contacting HP Customer Support to make certain before ordering it.

Here is a HP Knowledge Base article that will explain what to consider when adding or upgrading your video card.

Great! Thanks, do you mind if you could give me a link to that 500W PSU? I'm having some trouble finding one.

Thanks, Gherkin

You are very welcome, @OrangeGherkin!

Here is the L05757-800 on HP PartSurfer.  You can order it by selecting the box under "Add to Cart".  It appears to be available from HP.

Good luck!!
