I would like to upgrade my CPU as it is bottlenecking my gpu in demanding games.
Would the ryzen 5 3600 work or could you please provide me a list of cpu's that I can upgrade to.
To my knowledge this is a b550a motherboard so would any am4 cpu work aswell as long as it fits my 400w powersupply
The listing of my pc on amazon is listed as a tg01-0067na with r3 3200g rx5500 however shows in hp software as the tg01-0000a

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-0000a (6GY67AV), according to: https://support.hp.com/za-en/document/c06915408, and: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=2E9U0EA, as fitted with an Erica motherboard (SSID: 8643), can be upgraded up to an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (3.60 GHz up to 4.40 GHz, 8-Cores, 16-Threads). Mind you, this processor does not have integrated graphics, so a discrete graphics card is required:
And yes, an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 would work, but only offers a minor (+2%) upgrade over an AMD Ryzen 5 3500.
All compatible processors sport the same 65-watt TDP, so your 400-watt power supply is sufficient to power any of them. If interested, a 500-watt power supply with p/n: L05757-800 is compatible with your desktop, in case you want to upgrade your graphics card. This PSU can be purchased online such as through eBay.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,
