HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Tower PC Product Specifications
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have two 3.5" 2 TB drives in the system and I would like to install another internal hard drive or two.

What can I do? Right now there are three bays. Two are for 3.5" drives and the other looks like a 2.5" space.

The power supply is 280W. I have two 27" HP monitors connected.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Here is the link to the HP Hardware Reference Guide for your PC: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04844134

As you can see on page 10, you have 5 SATA connectors on the motherboard, so you could easily add more drives.

Good Luck

From the document that the Other Person cited:

Front panel components

Drive configuration may vary by model.

Some models have a bezel blank covering one or more drive bays.

Image of front panel follows:

In the image above:

Item #2 ==> 5.25-inch Half-Height Drive Bay (behind bezel)

Item #7 ==>  Slim Optical Drive (optional)

Thus, you also have a "wide" drive-bay, that presumably is empty.

All you need is a mounting tray (a piece of metal) that fits into the slot, but has mounting brackets for a 3.5-inch wide disk-drive, or a pair of adapters, such as:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/startech-3-5-universal-hard-drive-mounting-bracket-adapter-for-5-25-bay...

to "shim" your 3.5-inch-wide device to fit into a 5.25-inch-wide slot.

Hopefully, your power-supply has an "unused" power-connector, to give power to the additional disk-drive.

If not, see: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6268701&CatId=11751#

for a "Y-splitter" cable.

I decided to go with a 2TB Seagate 2.5" drive to put into the third slot, which is designed for that size.

There is a built in power wire.

I purchased a SATA connecter wire for it.

However I need to buy 4 M3 black & blue insulated screws to complete the installation.

Do you have any idea where I can purchase these?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Visit any "owner/operator" computer store.

They will probably have a jar-full of various screws, and may let you pick through them, to select what you want.

Offer them $1.  :generic:
