Hi,

I just spent 20 wasted, frustrating minutes on chat with a "tech" that did not grasp anything that I said.

My system came with an M2 512 SSD and a 1T HDD.   I'd like to install another SSD (not replace the 512 already in there.)

I understand the 2 M2 ports I have are used with the 512 SSD and a WAN chip.  I'm looking at installing a SSD using the empty SATA connection and the unused power plug.  Can this be done?

Absolutely you can do that. The MB specs here show 2 SATA data ports next to the RAM slots. Also this page shows a 7200 RPM SATA drive as compatible.

My Info:
"Currently owning an Elitedesk 600 G3 running smooth as silk with Windows 11. But servicing Desktop and laptops running Windows"

Thanks for the reply. Good grief, trying to explain I didn't want to get rid of either drive the system came with and wanting to install another SSD in the empty SATA and unused power plug was impossible.  He just kept saying there was no empty M2 slot.

Which I knew and told him.  Just have to figure out the mounting for the drive.
