Pavilion 590-p0054
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Pavilion 590-p0054 is more than a month old, and I have made lots of tweaks since I purchased it. But I have ONE simple thought, is my PC compatible with Intel Optane Memory, even though an SSD is on the M.2 slot?

Hi,

I think migrating to Optane is not cost effective and requires operating system modifications.

Hi,

Why migrate to Optane if your PC has a M.2 NVME PCIe 3.0x4 drive now?

Negligible benefits to be derived by migrating to an M.2 Optane drive. You have to reconfigure the system to work with Optane memory.

Better upgrade would be a bigger M.2 NVME drive. 256 GB or, best practice, a 512 GB drive.

Your problem is a 128 GB M.2 NVME SSD. You will run out of storage space quickly with a 128 GB M.2 SSD.

Installing large programs and storing data on the 128 GB boot drive is the problem.

No, no, no! I meant swapping my current 128GB SSD for an Intel Optane Memory module. That is why I'm curious about.
