My PC came with 6 USB 2.0 ports. I've been archiving VHS to DVD, and have about 200GB I'd like to transfer from DVD to a (yet to be purchased) solid state USB hard drive. Does my model of HP Pavilion desktop accept USB 3.0? If yes, can anyone suggest a high-quality one? Same for a USB HD. Thank you for your help.

Your unit only supports USB2.0, so there is no way to speed up the process.
As far as USB 3.0 and a hard drive, I use these quite often.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
After reading your post, I did go through the Motherboard Specifications of your product and found that you have "Six USB headers supporting sight USB 2.0 ports.
Note: the USB 3.0 is not compatible with this unit (supports only USB 2.0 )
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
