Hi @Holbrook3

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining the situation clearly—since your HP wireless keyboard passed the hardware test but still won’t sync or respond, even after battery replacement and reboot, the issue likely lies in Bluetooth pairing, USB receiver recognition, or driver conflicts

Let’s walk through a focused recovery path to restore full keyboard functionality.

Step-by-Step Fix for HP Wireless Keyboard Not Syncing

1. Confirm Connection Type

  • Is your keyboard using:
    • A USB wireless receiver (dongle)?
    • Or Bluetooth pairing?

If it’s a dongle-based keyboard, make sure the receiver is plugged directly into a USB-A port, not a hub or dock.

2. Re-Pair the Keyboard

If Bluetooth:

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Devices.
  • Remove the keyboard from the list.
  • Press the pairing button on the keyboard (usually near the battery compartment).
  • Re-add it via Add Device > Bluetooth.

If USB receiver:

  • Unplug the receiver → wait 10 seconds → plug into a different USB port.
  • Restart your PC and wait for Windows to auto-detect.

3. Check Device Manager

  • Press Windows + X > Device Manager.
  • Expand Keyboards and Human Interface Devices.
  • Look for any yellow warning icons.
  • Right-click the keyboard entry → choose Uninstall device.
  • Restart your PC to reinstall the driver automatically.

4. Update or Reinstall HP Keyboard Driver

5. Test with Another PC (If Available)

  • Try pairing the keyboard with another Windows device.
  • If it works there, the issue is PC-specific.
  • If it doesn’t, the keyboard may have a firmware or internal fault.

Let me know your keyboard model (e.g., HP 400, HP K2500, etc.) and whether it uses Bluetooth or a USB receiver—I’ll guide you with exact pairing and driver steps. You're close to resolving this.
