Hi @EK41,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP All-in-One PC 27 keyboard isn't typing, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
Check the Keyboard Connection:
- If it's a wired keyboard, ensure that the cable is securely plugged into the USB port.
- If it's wireless, check that the receiver is properly connected and the batteries are not depleted.
Try a Different Port:
- Plug the keyboard into a different USB port to rule out issues with the port itself.
Check for Keyboard Driver Issues:
- Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button, then select "Device Manager").
- Expand the "Keyboards" section. If there's a yellow triangle next to the keyboard, right-click on it and select "Uninstall device." Restart the computer, and Windows should reinstall the drivers automatically.
Test the Keyboard in BIOS:
- Restart your PC and press the appropriate key (usually F10 or Esc) to enter the BIOS/UEFI settings.
- If the keyboard works in BIOS, it's likely a software issue with Windows.
Try Another Keyboard:
- If available, try another keyboard to see if the issue persists. This can help confirm whether it's the keyboard or the PC itself.
Check for Sticky Keys or Other Accessibility Settings:
- Sometimes, the "Sticky Keys" or other accessibility options might interfere with typing. Go to Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard and ensure none of these features are enabled.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
