HP laptop model 14s
The laptop will not turn on and there is no sign of life. I did try a few methods earlier but none of them worked. I put it on charge this morning and the screen turned white for a split second it did this about three times with 10 second gaps. I think it might be water damaged. It is not the charger because I have tried 2 different working cables in it. Please help.

Hi @Loz01,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing some issues with your HP laptop model 14s. Since you've already tried some methods and the laptop is not showing any signs of life, there could be several potential reasons for this problem. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue.
- Check the power source: Ensure that the power adapter is functioning correctly and securely plugged into both the laptop and a working power outlet. Try using a different power outlet or a different power adapter if available.
- Remove external devices: Disconnect all external devices (such as USB drives, external monitors, etc.) from the laptop and try turning it on again. Sometimes, a faulty external device can prevent the laptop from booting.
- Perform a hard reset: Sometimes, a hard reset can help resolve power-related issues. To do this, disconnect the power adapter, remove the battery (if possible), and then press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds. After that, reconnect the power adapter (without the battery if you removed it) and try turning on the laptop.
- Check the battery: If your laptop has a removable battery, make sure it's properly seated in its compartment. If the battery is old or damaged, it may need to be replaced.
- Try an external monitor: Connect your laptop to an external monitor (if available) to check if the issue is related to the laptop's display. If the external monitor displays an image, then the problem may lie with the laptop's built-in display or its display cable.
- Test the RAM: Faulty RAM can sometimes cause a laptop not to boot. If you're comfortable doing so, try reseating or replacing the RAM modules in your laptop.
- Check for overheating: If your laptop is overheating, it may shut down as a protective measure. Check if the cooling vents are clear of dust and debris, and consider using a cooling pad to help dissipate heat.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
