Hello everyone!!  I have a desktop computer:  HP P7  - 1210    Model#:  QW691AA

SKU:  4706896    Serial#:[Personal Information Removed]  .  I unfortunately have no clue as to what type of graphics card would be compatible with my type of computer.  The reason I need assitance, is because I have been trying to enter certain games on the computer and I can't get access.  So, I was hoping that someone would be able to assist me in finding the best and most powerful graphics card that is compatible with my computer.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you very much for your time and assistance!!

Hello NonSequitur777:  I just wanted to update you on my current purchases.  I purchased: A-Tech 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz PC3-12800 CL11 DIMM 240-Pin Non-ECC UDIMM Desktop RAM Memory Modules, and StarTech.com 6in SATA Power to 6 Pin PCI Express Video Card Power Cable Adapter - SATA to 6 pin PCIe power, Black, Yellow (SATPCIEXADAP)...from Amazon.  I purchased: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card (02GP42951KR).....from eBay.  The only item that I have not yet purchased is the CPU processor.  Here is a description of one that I am considering, but I noticed that the word "unlocked" was not listed in the description.  Is that important for the CPU processor??  Thank you so very much for putting so much time into assisting me.  Here is the description of the one I haven't bought...Yet:

AMD A8-3850 Quad Core Processor 2.9GHz, 4 MB Cache, Socket FM1, 100Watt CPU....eBay
Thank you for EVERYTHING...NonSequitur777!!!!!!

@IdaEC,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

Your HP Pavilion p7-1210 Desktop PC (QW691AA) is fitted with an ATX 300-watt power supply.  Incidentally, because it is an ATX power supply with the following dimensions: 150mm x 140mm x 86mm (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches), any ATX PSU of matching size will fit.

Also, you should have the maximum of RAM installed: 2 x 4GB of DDR3 PC3-12800, 1600 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, DIMM (UDIMM), 240-pin RAM sticks, such as this purchase option: https://www.amazon.com/PC3-12800-DESKTOP-Modules-240-pin-Tech/dp/B00C53GZFY/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3OHXG9TI....

You could upgrade your processor to an A8-3870K, which you can purchase around $16 via an eBay Seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/172572310560?epid=115939795&itmmeta=01HYNHERXRPNFJ2VKTF7Y2FQF8&hash=item282..., or to an A8-3850, which sells for around $11 via an eBay Seller: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=A8-3850&_sacat=0&_sop=15&rt=nc&LH_PrefLoc=2.

One of the best and most affordable graphics cards you could use for your legacy system, in my opinion, would be a GTX 950 2GB, which you can purchase for around $35, also via an eBay Seller, such as: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card (02GP42951KR) 843368037277 | eBay.  This card requires a 6-pin PCIe power cable, which I am not sure if your current power supply is equipped with, but this could be easily resolved using a dual 15-pin SATA to PCIe 6-pin power cable adapter, such as this purchase option: Amazon.com: StarTech.com 6in SATA Power to 6 Pin PCI Express Video Card Power Cable Adapter - SATA t....

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

@IdaEC,

Don't thank me just yet: I would suggest to carefully install your new computer components one at time, restart your computer each time, and verify that each upgrade works out.

Kind Regards,
