Recently I have installed a wd blue 500gb m. 2 sata ssd into my hp pavilion 570-p0xx desktop. I think based on previous reading the slot is able to support the drive I had purchased, but it's not showing up in either the bios and Windows disk management.
Also the computer came with a hard drive and cd drive pre-installed, not sure if that would be the issue.

According to the product number you posted, you have a HP Pavilion 570-p059a Desktop PC.

Your PC has a Lubin motherboard, and the M.2 slot supports NVMe SSD's only.
Other folks have tried SATA SSD's in that motherboard and they didn't work.

Some motherboards M.2 slot support SATA SSD's only, some support NVMe SSD's only, and some support both.
