Example: Pavilion 500
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just started getting BSOD Stopcode/ memory management each time I place an sd card in the slot. The card works on other PCs. I have checked all drivers are current. I would like to remove and reinstall the driver, but can't figure out which one controls the built in card reader. Also, recently, I get a pop up file explorer asking me to insert a card in the "f" drive, which is the slot on my printer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What is your Pavilion 500-xxx ? Please check its label at its back. Please download and install Realtek Card Reader Driver:

   https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71705.exe

Otherwise we need EXACTLY what is the model/product of your machine.

Regards.

It is a Model 500-164. I have installed the driver, and will insert an sd drive shortly. Hopefully it will not BSOD. I will let you know

That seems to have worked. Thank you very much. The PC now seems a little slower, but nothing I can't live with.
