Memory upgrade

Does the model 290-p0035xt support more than 8 GB RAM, or no?
It has 2x4GB, for a total of 8GB.
I want to replace with 2x8GB, for a total of 16GB.

Installing 2 x 8GB of RAM is no problem whatsoever, as this HP Slimline 290-pxxx Desktop User shows.

Your HP Slimline Desktop - 290-p0035xt (3UQ64AA) as fitted with a Menlo motherboard (SSID: 843F) can be fitted with up to 2 x 16GB of DDR4 PC4-21300, 2666 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, DIMM (UDIMM), 288-pin RAM sticks. According to Crucial, even up to 2 x 32GB RAM.

You could use DDR4 PC4-25600, 3200 MHz RAM, which will down throttle to 2666 MHz.

OK, but that page doesn't have any information on memory.
On this page

it sez under "Memory Upgrade Information":
"Supports up to 8 GB (unbuffered) on 64-bit computers"
Which is why I asked.

Any idea?

That (HP) page states the max RAM allowed for your desktop incorrectly. That's why I referenced an (almost) identical desktop ("HP Slimline 290-p0046 Desktop Rfrbd PC") User fitted with a Menlo motherboard (SSID: 843F) with 2 x 8GB RAM sticks:

That's interesting. Why don't they fix that?
Resource Monitor shows well over 80% of memory in use all the time on this computer, so maybe that'll speed things up a bit.

Why doesn't HP fix these kinds of errors?  Good question.  Probably because it is deemed inconsequential and most people either don't notice, ignore it, or rely on other reputable sources such as the Crucial link I referenced in my first comment.  And it probably would be too time consuming for HP to address/doublecheck/edit relatively minor errors.
