No, i haven't tried to install it manually directly from Intel, because the downloaded file is an extracting package and it stops after seeing that it's incompatible with the system.
How can i download the driver to install it manually?
In addition, regarding my laptop, i have these Unknown devices missing drivers
1. ACPI\HPQ0004\2&DABA3FF&0
2. USB\VID_138A&PID_0001\5&D874863&0&1

Sorry my comments are rather vague but I'm currently with a computer myself and I've been using a tablet. Needless to say a small touch screen with big fingers does work very well.
But need on your conversation with Paul I want to think that the hardware is failing failed. If it's a stand alone card, then removed the card and check the leads. If you have access to anything computer you could try running a cross over cable to and from the lan line just to verify that the two computers are in contact with each other.
Lastly, is your ISP currently having outrages in the area, granted checking all of this would require an net connecting so may have to rely on actually calling your ISP to see if any outages have been reported in your area. This is just one of those instances where if the system goes down again, hopefully one would have all the drivers saved on a back up CD or flash drive.

Hi:
What you need to do is to download this free file utility. The 2nd file at the top of the page is for 64 bit.
After you install 7-zip, redownload and save the Intel ethernet driver.
Right click on the file you saved and select 7-Zip from the menu.
Have 7-zip extract to: and let it extract the file into its folder name.
Now you will have a driver folder you can browse to.
ACPI\HPQ0004:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64001-64500/sp64144.exe
USB\VID_138A&PID_0001

Thank you for your answers AmpLighter!
I don't have the drivers, as i bought the PC used.
Unrtunately the adapter is part of the motherboard and not a separate part.
You are right about the ISP. There has been a problem after a thunderstorm 2 days ago, and they have replaced my modem today, as it was problematic. But that still hasn't fixed my issue.

YW merely suggested that one look beyond the obvious as there could be other issues preventing one from gaining access to the net. My add-on skuzzy card could be an alternitive card which would allow one to access the internet. If you have an extra lanyard, try that in the system just to see if you can bypass any issues you're encountering. I personally have several broken system in home and take parts from one to another just to keep or maintain the current system. However the last storm did not help matters. Check the papers for a computer show/sale in your area and by a cheap skuzzy lan card just so you can access the net to download those drivers you need. Or locate the driver site and save the zip etc to a flash drive.
