Need the full specifications of the motherboard that came along with this PC. Envy Desktop - 750-280st CTO
I bought this desktop around 8 years ago, with 6th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K quad-core processor [4.0GHz, 8MB Shared Cache]. This CPU is now not compatible with Windows 11, seems a shame to jettison the entire box when only the CPU is not compatible.
I guess I could open it all up to see what motherboard is in there but was hoping someone else has attempted this before and can share their experience.

Below is the link to the product specs for your PC.
HP ENVY 750-280st CTO Desktop PC product specifications and configurable options | HP® Support
The system board does not support any Intel 8th generation core processors.
HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - motherboard specifications, Thimphu | HP® Support
It doesn't even support any Intel 7th generation core processors for that matter.
I have been running W11 on around 13 or so HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that do not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements for over two years now.
I'm not throwing away perfectly good PC's because of some artificial cutoff line.
If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2/22H3.
You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
