I own an HP Pavilion Elite HPE desktop computer (10 yrs old, maybe older) I added a second internal hard drive of 16 terabytes, but when I try to format this new hard drive, the computer sees it as 566 gigabytes hard drive instead. I switched the cables from the original drives (Drive C), power, and SATA, to the new drive and still have the same problem. I ended up getting another big hard drive and still gives me the same problem. What would be the problem with my computer? When I connect an external hard drive it recognizes it without any problem, no matter the drive size. How can I add a more than 2TB internal hard drive and the computer recognize it?

Hi:
Your PC's BIOS is too old to support any drive larger than 2 TB.
You need a PC with a UEFI BIOS in order for the entire drive capacity of a larger drive to be seen.
The only suggestion I can offer, would be to see if formatting the drive with the GPT partition table allows you to use the entire capacity for storage.
