Can I claim on the MANUFACTURERs warranty without affecting my extended hp care package warranty?

My PC is making a loud buzzing sound when playing games and it's unbearable. When I pay as much as I have for a device I don't expect to have to deal with this.

Here is a link to let you heard the sound the PC is making. I'm certain it's coming from the power supply.

Unfortunately, that sound like normal fan noise when processing / gaming at full potential.  My Area51 is louder.  You might consider investing in a quality gaming headset.

This assumes the noise occurs only during gaming.

If your system has control of the sensors and fans then you might be able to set a profile to run the fans at a lower speed.

The power supply usually accumulates more dust than other parts of any system.  Make sure to blow out the dust every 2 or 3 months depending on what is there.

Unfortunately I've tested and tried to see if this is the case and as far as I can tell, the issue is directly a sound coming from the power supply. The sound is not normal fan noise as I've used the HP diagnostics with a support agent and the fan tests didn't replicate the issue.

Hi
only my point of view..
Sometimes, we don't realize, a recording remains a recording, but there, frankly yes, it's horrible..
You shouldn't have to use a headset, or whatever workaround, when you have a computer, Gamer, and even if you don't
For me here, nothing normal!
Regardless of the warranty, or warranty extension, the computer must either be exchanged, refunded, repaired!
If you bought it in a store other than hp, try to start, to see with them, if there is a way to make a replacement
If not, operate your warranty

@Aristomedus,

It is sometimes challenging to identify specific part numbers for HP PCs.

Is this the PSU in your PC: HP p/n: M22295-001 500W?

I once had to change a PSU cooling fan, because of excessive noise.  Simple job, cheap too.

I would look into that first -change your PSU cooling fan.

If a PSU replacement is needed, here are two options (there may be more, but this came up in a quick search):

HP has this unit in stock for $175.

Ebay has a new unit for sale at $149.99: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144193453725?hash=item2192997e9d:g:~2UAAOSwUwxhOi7S

Hope this helps.

Hi sorry @NonSequitur777

you don't understand the question here?
the user has an obvious problem, under warranty
He doesn't have to pay anything to solve this problem!
the computer is defective, the dealer must take charge of it!

moreover if the user is located in United Kingdom

@Prométhée,

I understood the question/scenario crystal clear.  My angle of response to the problem at hand was to suggest a repair, warranty applicability aside. You know as well as anyone that sometimes warranty claims could drag on for a considerable period of time.  One can conclude that it isn't worth-it to wait for a potentially very simple and low-cost repair.

Compris?

Kind Regards,

We don't have the same laws as you @NonSequitur777
We can demand an immediate refund, replacement, depending on the problem, by the seller, no need to go through the manufacturer!

With us, if an element is missing, it makes no sense to spend anything to repair your device!
Also, if it's not just a power issue, it might be useless.
