The way forward powering a high(er) end graphics card is to get rid of your stock HP power supply, by using an ATX power adapter specifically specced for your 800 G1, such as this purchase example: Amazon.com: YEZriler 24 Pin to 6 Pin ATX Power Adapter Sleeved Cable for HP Z200 Z230 4300 6080 8080....
Installation is a breeze: remove your HP power supply, plug in the adapter's (colored) "P2" and the "P1" 6-pin power connectors in your motherboard, then connect the 24-pin ATX power cable to the adapter, and use one of the ATX's 4-pin CPU power cables ("P3") to plug in your motherboard. Now you can use your ATX's PCIe power cable(s) to power pretty much whatever graphics card your wallet can support, as long as you watch the GPU's dimensions (LxWxH) -especially length, for fit inside your case.
Since you got the TWR model, there should be ample room to fit/secure an ATX power supply.
See what other HP EliteDesk 800 G1 TWR Users fit in their rigs using this power adapter: UserBenchmark: HP EliteDesk 800 G1 TWR Compatible Components.
Hope this was helpful.
