@kuau,

The first GPU bracket is a full-size profile bracket for Tower/Mini Tower PCs, whereas the second bracket is a low-profile bracket for Small Form Factor (SFF) PCs.

@kuau,

Not true what?

The illustrations you provided in the link shows the RTX 4000 both with the low-profile and fitted with the full-size bracket:

Now I am totally confused

why would hp show a full size back plane for the SFF card?

oh well either way I don’t think there’s anyway I can get just the correct backplane for my new RTX 4000 from anywhere

and HP does not even sell there version of the RTX4000 card on the USA 🇺🇸

go figure

on another note thanks for the tip on my 10gbe I/o card its

now working

@kuau,

All so-called low-profile graphics cards are sold with a low-profile bracket and a full-size bracket.  This is done so that by switching brackets, the low-profile card can also be installed in a full-size Tower/Mini-Tower PC case, such as this LP RTX 3050 example:

Anyway, glad to hear that your 10GBe I/O card is now working!

Old t-1000 and new PNY NVIDIA RTX 4000 SFF AdaOld t-1000 and new PNY NVIDIA RTX 4000 SFF AdaBracket that I think must come off; and the one that shipped with thePNY NVIDIA RTX 4000 SFF AdaBracket that I think must come off; and the one that shipped with thePNY NVIDIA RTX 4000 SFF AdaI'm stumped. I purchased the PNY NVIDIA RTX 4000 SFF Ada graphics card to install it in my HP Z2 Mini G9 Workstation.

I’m not able to install it.

The bracket that came attached to the PNY NVIDIA RTX 4000 SFF Ada graphics card is so wide that the card can’t fit into the computer’s case. That bracket has 2 screws that seem to hold it to the card, but with the screws removed that bracket stays firmly in place; some much so that it seems that  trying harder would damage the card.

A narrower bracket that looks like it would allow installation came with the order, but I can’t try it since can’t get the wider bracket off the card. Can you advise?

@1stof1,

You'll need to remove the two screws on the front of the full-size bracket, and the eight screws on the card's backplate:

Once you removed the backplate, there may be two additional screws holding the bracket in place.

Make sure you use the correct screw bits!

As with all rebuild efforts, if you are not comfortable doing it, reach out to a trusted acquaintance or friend who has the skills and proper tools to assist you.

Greetings,

Your comprehensive direction and advice have dropped my stress level, having been feeling for days that I’d have to return this card, and at best be hit with a restocking fee in the hundreds of dollars.

Thank you!

Hi, I exchanged the bracket; still the card didn’t fit.

I noticed that without either bracket, the case’s card opening would cover all but the ports; so it seems neither bracket is necessary.

So, I tried to install the card without using either backet; still the card is barely, but still too long wide (side to side to fit the area available area.

To me it looks like the case would need to be off the chassis to install the card.
