Dear HP Support Team,

I hope you're doing well.

I'm a student currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, and I’m reaching out to kindly request your support.

I lost the USB dongle for my HP wireless mouse, which is under warranty until 2026. I understand things get misplaced, but as a student, buying another mouse just for the dongle isn’t an easy option for me financially. I’m sincerely requesting a replacement dongle so I can continue using the mouse.

I also want to share that my HP Envy laptop, purchased last year, has had ongoing issues. Within two months, the mouse key started getting stuck. I contacted HP support more than five times. Finally, just before the warranty expired, a technician visited and said a part was missing and would be ordered but I never received it, and my warranty expired in the meantime. Later, the screen also started glitching.

Because of the stuck key, I bought this HP mouse in the first place. But now I can’t even use that, and I'm stuck again. As a student working on development, graphics, and Spline projects, this has completely disrupted my work. I truly need a working setup to continue learning and completing my tasks.

If needed, I can share videos of the stuck key and the display glitch if u want. I also have the case number from the earlier laptop issue.

You will be having multiple reasons not to help me out with it, But i don't have anywhere else to complain about my situation. i'm facing. Please understand my situation i'm only asking for a practical and fair solution to continue my work.

Thank you for your time and support.

Kind regards

Hi @AG2428,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your situation and experience with us, and we're sorry to hear about the challenges you've faced with both your HP Envy laptop and your HP wireless mouse.

🔹 Regarding the Lost USB Dongle:

We understand how frustrating it can be to misplace an essential component like a USB receiver, especially as a student relying on this device for your coursework. Unfortunately, for most HP wireless mouse models, the USB dongle is not sold separately, as it is pre-paired and uniquely matched to the mouse during manufacturing.

This means that even under warranty, HP is not able to send out a separate replacement dongle. However, because your mouse is still under warranty until 2026, you do qualify for support, and our regional support team may be able to offer a practical solution depending on product availability and policy in your location.

To get you the best assistance, we need to take this conversation to a private chat. We're inviting you to a private message to protect your privacy and ensure that any sensitive information remains confidential.

We're looking forward to helping you resolve this issue!

Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience!
