My desktop has had a few problems recently when I've plugged in a Dell Monitor and an acer monitor to my desktop. They have recently added an Ethernet adapter, which I just disabled so my wireless adapter works. Today, I come to turn my computer on, and my wireless adapter is just disappeared. So, I used ChatGPT to figure out how to fix it. It told me to uninstall it, restart my computer, and it will pop back up. I have restarted my computer multiple times and it hasn't shown up. I've scanned for hardware changes, I've checked for windows updates for drivers, I've gone through websites. I don't know what to do anymore. Please help.

Hi @Davis37,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Device Manager
Open Device Manager:
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
Locate Network Adapters:
- Expand the Network adapters section to check if your wireless adapter is listed.
Scan for Hardware Changes:
- If the wireless adapter is not listed, right-click on Network adapters and select Scan for hardware changes.
Reinstall Wireless Adapter Driver
Uninstall Driver:
- If the wireless adapter is listed, right-click on it and select Uninstall device.
- Check the option for Delete the driver software for this device if available.
Restart Your Computer:
- After uninstalling, restart your computer.
Automatic Reinstallation:
- Upon restarting, Windows should automatically detect and reinstall the wireless adapter.
Update Drivers
Open Device Manager:
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
Right-click Wireless Adapter:
- If the wireless adapter reappears, right-click on it and select Update driver.
Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software:
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software to let Windows check for and install the latest driver.
Check Physical Connections
Verify Connections:
- Ensure that the Ethernet adapter and monitors are properly connected.
Disable Unused Devices:
- If you have multiple network adapters (e.g., Ethernet, wireless), disable any unused adapters to avoid conflicts.
I hope this helps.
