hi

can you be more precise ?
it is a usb disk, quite old, but since usb, it should work like any usb disk, there is no driver for download ...
When you link it, does something or nothing happen at all?
Was it still working before changing computer?

Hi, thanks for your interest.

It's a HP Personal Media Drive  - hd1600

was definitely working on previous computer

when I connect it to PC the pop up asks if I want to save videos and photos to dropbox and then says that none are found.

there are videos and photos and files on it

the virtual help assistant suggested a fix for the incompatibility of usb 2.0 to the usb 3.0 port  which I did to no avail

I can find it on device manager and have tried updating driver but still no joy

So if it is visible in the device manager, it is recognized , no error ?
Is it visible in windows explorer?

@jings1

The best solution is to carefully remove the drive and use a USB to SATA external enclosure.

BE aware your dealing with a device that is 7-10 years old.
