It will work, but since your PC's NVMe SSD slot is only PCIe Gen 3.0, it won't run any faster than the WD Blue SN570 NVMe SSD I suggested.
I believe the most speed you can get out of a PCIe Gen 3 SSD slot is around 3,500 MBPS.

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
The only reason I can think of why you would want to go with a PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD, would be if you planned on moving it to a new PC in the future that has a PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD slot.

Hey I have a little problem
I got the drive I was showing you recently for Christmas.
Based on the one you recommended This is what the one in my tower looks like. What is this bigger old style called? I may have to send back the small chip one. For the older style.

Yes, your PC has a 2.5" SSD and a 1 TB 3.5" hard drive according to the product specs.

But you can still install the 2 TB NVMe SSD in the empty M.2 slot on the motherboard if you want.
No need to return the NVMe SSD you bought unless you want to.
The NVMe SSD would perform much better than the 2.5" SATA SSD.
A 2 TB replacement 2.5" SATA SSD would be one like this:
Look at the illustration on the motherboard in this discussion where the person has outlined where the M.2 NVMe SSD would go.

You're very welcome.
There's no such thing as a SATA to M.2 NVMe adapter.
The device you referenced is a SATA to M.2 SATA adapter.
If you bought the Samsung 980 Pro it will fit in the M.2 SSD slot on your PC's motherboard.
I showed you the diagram last night and several posts indicating a NVMe SSD will work in your PC.
