No display & loud cpu fan after installing new cpu

Hello, i have HP Z420 with the latest version of BIOS ( v3.96 ) i changed the cpu from e5-1607 v1 to e5-2680 v1, although theres no display when i turned on the pc and the cpu fan suddenly goes loud (like a mini jet engine). i have a 600W psu. i already tried resetting bios settings ( by doing the removing cmos battery thing) and it still doesnt work. i have a 2011 block date motherboard. Any help would be appreciated.

It's possible that the new CPU is not compatible with your motherboard, even though it uses the same socket type. The HP Z420 supports both the E5-1600 v1 and E5-2600 v1 processor families, but not all processors within those families are compatible with the motherboard.

You can check the HP Z420 QuickSpecs to see if your new CPU is listed as a supported processor for your specific motherboard model. If it's not listed, then it's likely that the CPU is not compatible and you will need to either revert back to the old CPU or upgrade to a different compatible one.  DashboardAnywhere

If your new CPU is listed as a supported processor, then it's possible that there's an issue with the CPU itself or with the installation process. You can try re-seating the CPU, making sure it's properly aligned and locked in place. You may also want to check if the CPU fan is properly connected and functioning.

It is normal behaviour for the fans to spin up loudly when you install a new CPU. The fans usually spin loudly for about a minute then the machine should reboot but with the fans back at 'normal' speed. (During the initial boot the fans run at maximum speed to ensure maximum cooling until the motherboard identifies and configures the new CPU).

Did you allow the system to reboot on it's own? Most people panick when the fans start spinning at full speed and hit the power button prematurely.

Are you getting any flashing power button lights or beeps?
