Apologies for my delayed response - got busy with an upgrade (SATA -> NVMe migration) that has not gone exactly well towards its end.

 

My BIOS does look similar but I still do have both RAID and AHCI options present in there. No other place where it can be changed exists as far as I can tell.

 

For what it's worth: my MoBo is based on Z170 chipset and has 4 SATA ports. I do use all 4 ports (well, now technically speaking only 3) and M.2 NVMe slot.
