Hi there. I am exploring upgrading the GTX 1660 Ti GPU in this desktop PC and think I'll need a power supply unit upgrade, as my current one is only 310w. I am in Australia.
Is it possible to upgrade my power supply unit for this desktop? If so, do you know what my options are and where I could purchase (online or in Australia)?
If you have suggestions, what GPU would suit this system as an upgrade? I have read/heard that anything longer than 10 inches / 24cm won't fit in the case. If you were doing this upgrade project, what would you put in it?
Kind regards,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
You can upgrade your power supply with a 400-watt unit with p/n: L04618-800, which you can purchase via this Australian eCommerce site for example: Part L04618-800 | EMPR® Australia. With a 400-watt power supply you can power smaller-sized (dual fan model) graphics cards such as an RTX 4060 or RTX 5060.
You can also upgrade your power supply with a 500-watt unit with p/n: L05757-800, which can also be purchased here: Part L05757-800 | EMPR® Australia. With a 500-watt power supply you can power a smaller-sized (dual fan model) graphics cards such as the RTX 4060 Ti or RTX 5060 Ti.
You may be able to purchase the aforementioned power supplies less expensive via AliExpress.

Hi @NonSequitur777,
Thanks so much for your reply and help. This is very helpful and wonderful.
I'm just wondering, will the GPU upgrade be worthwhile if I keep the original CPU in place, or would you recommend also upgrading CPU? I'm on a budget but just exploring my options. I have already added extra RAM and an extra 1TB SSD.
Thanks for your advice and help.

It looks like your HP Pavilion Gaming - TG01-0724a is fitted with an i7-9700F -which is a good processor, and your heatsink is rated for processors up to 95-watt. Your PC is also compatible with "K" processors, like this HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-0xxx user shows, so you could upgrade your PC with processors such as i7-9700KF or an i9-9900KF.
I would first upgrade your GPU and see how the overall gaming performance works out for you. Your i7-9700F may very well be good enough without having to upgrade it.
