Good day 

  • I would like to know if it matters which ram is installed in which slot if they don't have the same capacity.
  • I have an 8gb and two 4gb rams on a hp Elitedesk 800g1. I'd just like to know if there's any specific configuration instructions to follow when installing i.e (in ascending or descending order according capacity or not)

if you have dual channel or more
you usually have colors, as mentioned in the document
it is therefore necessary to have exactly the same modules speed, capacity size etc, in each slot which corresponds
If you use different modules, one it may not work
then you lose the dual channel, and the speed will be lowered to the lowest, see here:

so if you have two different models, it does not change much for the location it seems to me
