I was just wondering if my HP liquid cooler connection would work with other motherboard's pump head connector.
My system has an Intel 6700k CPU, so the motherboard I was considering was the ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO LGA1151 due to its connector for the cooler.
I don't really want to upgrade my CPU due to its still very fast.

Hi,
Third party motherboards have a lot more flexibility with running "opt" pumps etc. and PWM 4 wire connections. Additionally, pump support and fan curve setting are typically available in the BIOS.
You might check with ASUS and see if there is a posted Qualified Vendor List (QVL) for closed loop water pumps.
The radiator fan for the HP liquid cooler is small compared to the typical retail closed loop water coolers.
