Around 3-4 days ago i've update the BIOS on a HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0005nl and every day since then the PC would freeze at random . The power button doesn't work , neighter the mouse or the keyboard . I have to unplug it and start it again .

Windows 10 Home 64bit up to date , no events in event viewer other than unpluging the system , all drivers are up to date and all hardware is still in good shape . The system is quite old and already out of warranty .

I also done the reinstallation with Win + B and the power button a few hours ago but its still to early to say if it solved something .

Is there something else i could do to solve the random freezes ? Do i need to buy a USB and made a recovery with a previous BIOS version and revert or wait for a new update and hope that would solve it (in case it comes from the latest BIOS update) ?

Hi

A lot of users are having this issue.

Check this lengthy forum thread https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/Firmware-Rollback-... for a fix.

You have a faulty BIOS update which seems to have been available from Windows Update that is difficult to fix.
