I am unsure how to contact HP support and ask them to escalate the following to the developer team.
So, I'll write down what needs fixing.
I do own an HP 25MX display. This display doesn't wake up when the other screens do after going into standby mode.
It is a firmware problem, and hence why.
-> disabled Sleep mode from the screen
-> Have it connected via DisplayPort1.2 (not a problem, perhaps circumstantial or related)
-> As soon as the screen notices that the PC image went on standby it takes a few seconds before literally disconnecting itself from the PC. Which results on the screen not coming back to awake once I move the mouse again.
-> I tried other computers, but the problem persists
-> tried all the settings on the power menus inside the screen configs and none of them fixes the problem
-> the only way I have to get the screen to wake up with the other screens, is if I leave "Auto-switch input ON" but that creates a new plethora of problems since it keeps switching modes and makes the PC give the "device connected... disconnected" sound on loop as it keeps switching modes. So that is not a solution either.
My request here is that HP launches a firmware update because it's really annoying to have to press any of the buttons every time I try to awake the screen.
What's needed on the firmware update:
-> That the device doesn't disconnect itself from the PC when it goes on standby

The MX25 came out in 2018 and HP is not going to update any firmware. IMHO the firmware is not on an eprom and is not updateable at all.

Get a refund on the cable and try one that does not have the pin 20 problem.
Another thought: use DP adapter to HDMI directional from laptop to the HDMI port on the monitor. This is just a guess. You did not mention your PC. Does it have extra HDMI ports? Try HDMI instead of DP.

I looked here but did not see a firmware update. There is a windows driver but dated 2018 so only windows 10 or under. I doubt that the firmware can be upgraded.
See if you can force the monitor to wake up,.
Bring up the device manager, look for the 25mx and disable it
then enable it. This basically generates a wakeup command.
If the above works then a procedure can be created that you can click on to wake it up.
It is possible to program that procedure to run anytime the PC wakes up from sleep.
Let me know what happens.

Still doesn't work because the MX25 delists itself from the device list when it goes into standby mode, as if one disconnects the cable. We then need to press one of its buttons for it to wake up and reconnect to PC.
Tested other PCs, does the same.

Try reversing the cable. DP is supposed to be bi-directional
I also read that the version 1.0 DP cable cannot pass the "reset" signal. Try a different cable. I assume you are not using an adapter from the PC to the DP port.
Does the monitor wake up if you unplug and then plug the DP cable back in? This is a symptom of the version 1.0 DP cables
From your description, it appears the monitor is actually turning off which is not the same as sleeping.

Reversed the cable, no difference.
When I plug it out and plug it in, it does wake up from standby, but 2 seconds after goes to standby again if I don't move my mouse right after.
Tried another cable, no difference.
Screen doesn't go onto sleep because sleep would be signaled by a yellow dot, not the blue dot.
Reasoning, I can enable screen to go on sleep mode via timer, and it shows itself with a orange dot.

Possibly, your PC is not sending the proper signal through the DP cable. I am not an expert on DP specifications, but the PC needs to be able to break and make the connection to wake up the monitor. This is what a "reset signal" does.
Try updating the graphics driver that handles the DP port on your PC.
What PC model?
Intel has a support assistant for drivers

How do you explain that my other PC does the same?
And in this one, the mainscreen activates while the HP one doesn't?
I can guarantee you that its a firmware problem at this point. Just figured it out once I finally switched PCs, because I used to think it was my old PC being dumb.
