PSU Upgrade - HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0002np

Greetings.

I wanted to update several components of my HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0002np (Product number 4GK91EA).

The updates i'm looking for:

2 x 16GB DDR4 RAM - Patriot Viper Elite c16

Gygabite GeForce RTX-3060 Gaming OC V2 12GB DDR6

Intel CPU i7-9700K

Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120SE CPU cooler

What would be the PSU recommended for this upgrades or is the current one (310W) sufficient?

Hi:

The graphics card you want to install requires a supplemental power connection and a recommended PSU of 450W.

I don't believe that the 310W power supply comes with the required connectors and falls short of the power supply recommendations.

I recommend that you replace the existing power supply with the 500W HP power supply that was offered as an option in the HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0xxx model series:

I upgraded the PSU on my Pavilion 690 too, and it really improved performance. I can now play games like Rope Hero Vice Town Mod APK, GTA 5, and Call of Duty smoothly on my system. Just make sure the PSU fits your case and meets the power requirements. Hope this helps!
