Hello there,
so I want to upgrade my GPU, but to do that, I have to increase my power supply as well. I was searching for some PSU's, but most of them don't fit into my computer.
After some research, I found:
- HP Nr. L04618‑800 with 400W
- HP Nr. L05757‑800 with 500W
Both of them should fit, but I'm not 100% sure, so I want to ask an expert for further detail. If none of them fit, do you have a better PSU I should check out?
Many thanks in advance!
PS: If you need further information about my setup, computer or whatsoever, I would gladly give them to you. Just ask, if you need to know something possibly important!

Hi:
How I check for power supply compatibility with a model series is to enter the PSU part number in the HP partsurfer database.
This one shows it is used in the M01-F model series.
400 watt PSU, part number - L04618-800
This does not indicate that the 500W power supply with the below part number is used in the M01-F model series.
500 watt PSU, part number - L05757-800
However, when I do a search in the forum replies indicate that part number will work and I do not see any alternate part numbers for the 500W PSU.

Hey! Foremost, thank you very much for your help! The database is a wonderful feature. Now I'm going to buy the L05757‑800.
I have some more questions though:
Do I have to buy a now power cable for that PSU? With increased input voltage and amperage?
And are the PCIe cable included when I buy this? I heard that it has a 6- or 8-Pin. Do I have to buy those extra?
That would be really helpful to know!

You're very welcome.
You do not need to buy a new power cable.
This discussion indicates that the power supply comes with the supplemental PCIe power connector.

The compatible smaller-sized 500-watt power supply has part number: 901759-013.

I’ve worked on a similar HP model before and ran into the same thing. Both the L04618‑800 (400W) and L05757‑800 (500W) are HP-specific units and should fit your M01-F0000a since they were made for that type of case. Still, it's a good idea to double-check the dimensions, especially the depth, since space can be tight in those cases.
If you're going for a mid-range GPU, the 500W option is the better pick. Just make sure it has the right power connectors for your GPU, like 6-pin or 8-pin. If you’re thinking about using a regular ATX power supply, it might not fit without modifying the case or using adapters, which can get complicated.
Let me know what GPU you're looking at and I can give more specific advice.
