Hello, ive recently recieved my pavilion 690-0024 ryzen 5/rx580 With the sunflower motherboard. Just looking over it i noticed the cpu cooler is not and amd cooler, and the mounting holes are not regular amd. It appears to be a square mounting pattern.. im looking to upgrade coolers and this is making it tough. Any info would be great as i really dont want to have to removed the motherbaord just to measure and guess buying coolers. Seems stange they wouldnt just use an amd mount for amd chip, also i doubt they would make a custom mounting pattern and design a cpu cooler to fit it insted of using a existing one. Does anyone know if this is a intel 115X mounting pattern , or the distance between the mounts? I really want to upgrade this cheap cooler, Thanks.

You are correct. The HP motherboard CPU heatsink mounting points are not to AMD specs.
A Intel CPU cooler upgrade was suggested but was never verified as a viable solution.
You would have to measure the Sunflower CPU heatsink backplate mounting dimensions and compare to square Intel mounting specifications.
Yes, HP has modified the CPU socket backplate mounting configuration.
