Help !
I pulled my computer out of the closed after 2 years storage. It started up and runs fine.
I slid the HP Media Drive (HD10000z) in the slot, and it is not being recognized, or acknowledged in any way byt the computer. The blue light is on.
I tried hooking it up with the USB cable but my computer keeps trying to install it as the WiFi repeater. The blue light will be on.
I have uninstalled it in the Devece Manager and tried different USB ports - once it installed with the name "HP Personal Media Drive" but was listed under the USB things. I tried another USB port and it installed as a "mass storage device". Neither of these was listed in the File Manager so Icould view the files. Again, the blue light will be on.
I tried installing the driver from HP, but when I run the setup I get the error "There is no HP SureStore drive in your system. Please connect it." and I'm sure the blue light is laughing at me.
I know this is not a lot of information - but I can probably find any information you need (except the original install disc that came with the drive) - can anyone help?
THANK YOU !!!!

Hello,
Thank you SO much for the asistance ...
Method #1 - Did not do anything
Method #2 - "You must initialize a disk before Logical Disk Management can access it" (Disk 5 / Unknown / Not Initialized)
- Disk 5 is checked
- If I choose MBR and click OK, I get "Incorect Function"
- If I choose GPT and click OK I get "incorrect Function"
- For the heck of it, I clicked Offline, and I get the same "Incorrect Function" error
- I tried uninstalling the driver and getting a new one but the "searching online for software" just sits there spinning.
Method #3 - Did not try
Method #4 - Did not help
I removed the Personal Media Drive in "Devices" but when I put it back in the slot it appears again. With driver. But it does NOT appear in the file manager where I can access it.
The media does not have the yellow light on (blue one is) but I can hear it making a faint 'computer-ish' noise.
THANK YOU !!!!
