HP Compaq 8000 Elite Small Form Factor PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Just suddenly without any change to the physical hardware the power supply fan started working on full speed all the time when the computer is ON. We checked the hardware and it's definitely the power supply fan. The CPU fan is at slow speed. We also checked the BIOS settings and the Thermal settings are set to lowest speed. We tried to change the thermal settings to different value without any change. We tried to update the BIOS the latest without any change. Same also with resetting bios to defaults without any success.

The computer is working normally but it's loud.

Any advice?

@PerftechSIO,

Shutdown the computer and remove power cord.  Get a can of compressed air, and blow out the dust within the power supply.

Hello,

We forgot to mention that we did that as the first thing. We have an air compressor so the power supply is clean without dust. The air flow is excellent because the fan is running 100% all the time. The air going out of the power supply/the casing is not hot so the supply is not overheating. We suspect that something on system on board of the power supply or motherboard is broken and is sending signal to psu fan to run it on 100% always. If someone has any kind of suggestions we are happy to hear them.

Thanks.
