I'd like to get a better power supply (400 watts or more, hopefully 500 watts) in order to throw a much better graphics cards into this computer. This model I recently bought comes with a meager 180 watt power supply that is not even sufficient even for my 75 watt GTX 1650, with which it often blue screens due to low power, so I suppose I need to upgrade the PSU regardless as I cannot work with the integrated graphics.
Preferably the new PSU would have a PCIe power cable as well, to power the new graphics card.
In order to complete work I need to do with this computer, I'll need to upgrade the PSU. Is that possible? Thanks so much.

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
There are two compatible power supply upgrade options available for your PC:
1.) 400-watt: p/n: L04618-800
2.) 500-watt: p/n: L05757-800
You can purchase these power supplies online, such as via eBay or Amazon.

Hi, thanks so much for the quick and concise answer!
I found this part on eBay. Could you confirm that it's the correct one? I examined the one inside my own computer and the two look almost identical, although I'd just like to make sure before making the purchase.

I believe this power supply should work, but because a comprehensive HP power supply compatibility chart is missing, you are taking a risk buying from a PRC Seller. Personally, I would strongly recommend buying from a US Seller who allows for a free return, such as this eBay purchase option: https://www.ebay.com/itm/314525580056?_skw=901759-013&itmmeta=01JDK6SA2FDGFH8CA1PJ7NX89J&hash=item49....
