Product: HP ENVY Desktop PC TE01-1000i (1K4E8AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I’m trying to update my graphics card from an integrated graphics card to GeForce GTX 1660 Super where it requires a 8pin cable power supply. I can find the 8pin power supply cable.

1 - does the desktop come with one? If yes, where is it?

2 - if not, which one do I need and what is it called?

3 - I read something about a 8pin split cable… 

I really need help please!

For most models of this type, you do not have sufficient power supply
depending on the manufacturer / model, but Nvidia indicates a minimum of 450 w with an 8 pin connector
you will find here, a list of compatible box

Thank you! I’m gonna check and open up the power supply to see if the cable is in there. I also bought the 8 pin cable  and it will arrive tomorrow . 
I thought I had enough PSU power.

I'm afraid you're confusing the power of the graphics card, and the power of the power supply required

moreover if your power supply does not have a pci connector, I do not know if your purchased cable can be connected, and sufficient, I do not see what you could buy, apart from a kind of adapter?

Hi,

You have been very helpful in giving me solution for what I need. You are right, the Nvidia GeForce 1660 Super recommends 450w to run. I tried finding the 500W (L05757-800) PSU part to run my GPU but it is not available at HP part surf website. Do you know if there is a comparable option that I can purchase, or am I doomed?
