I have bought cx750 power supply but its not starting up the pc! works with old power supply
The new psu is not faulty, checked it with connecting pins.
power button is connected
the fans make a half rotation and the red light lights up on the front panel indicator.
mobo also has green light working
what could be the problem? Maybe the wx6600 does not support new psu's?

the xw6600 is a workstation class motherboard/system, it does not use/follow the ATX power supply pinouts
connecting a atx supply to this board is placing wrong voltages on some pins and also causing a direct short, which can damage the motherboard andd/or the atx power supply
this board also uses "FB Dimm" memory modules not normal ram
the motherboard has a ambient tempture sensor that is embeded in the power harness, and if missing (or bad) will cause the case fans to allways run at full speed
i recomend you download the HP xw6600 technical reference manual for this board as it contains much usefull information

also, workstation related questions should be posted in the WORKSTATION FORUM instead of this forum
