Hi. I would like to upgrade to Windows 11. I have a HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx with a HP 863B motherboard.
I currently have 16Gb of RAM (2x8Gb) and am considering upgrading/increasing this too.
Can anyone tell me which CPUs are compatible with the 863B board and would run Windows 11 Pro?
And also whether I can upgrade to 32Gb of RAM?
Thanks in advance!

Hi:
The processor is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded unless you replace the motherboard.
However, chapter 3 of the service manual indicates that there are no motherboards with processors that meet Microsoft's minimum W11 processor requirements of an Intel 8th gen or newer processor.
Since your notebook has an Intel i7-7700 HQ processor, it should support 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-2400 MHz memory.
If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2/22H3.
You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
