HI,
Sometimes a BIOS upgrade will add new compatible processors. That is not very common. Upgrading a BIOS is not recommended for a person with very little PC experience.
Upgrading a BIOS and having it go wrong is the fastest way to "Brick" a PC or laptop.
"Brick" means to render a PC or laptop to the fuctionality of a piece of brick that homes are made out of. 😉
Happy Holidays,
erico

Sorry I don't really understand how BIOS works..
What if I update BIOS.. will I be able to upgrade those processors???
Sorry if this sounds really stupid:smileyhappy:
The only stupid question is one that is not asked. 😉
Best regards,
erico

Hi,
This is in response to your PM.
Please tell us what upgrades that were done. Do you have 2 gb of memory installed? What processor is now installed?
If your want a video card that is faster than the NVIDIA GT 240 1gb DDR5 then you will need to replace the power supply.
What is the main intended use of the PC? Faster video and gaming?

Hi,
The E4300 is hard to find anywhere because it is no longer being manufactured. Socket 775 is not the current platform rage. The best way to do the upgrade is to find a second hand market source locally. Here in the Netherlands we use marktplaats.nl.
Personnaly I on't have much faith in eBay as it is easy to get ripped off if you are not careful.
I did a google search for the PC component second-hand market. Take a look in there and in the newspapers.
regards,
erico

Yes I have 2gb of memory installed and my CPU is Pentium E2140 and now I am going to upgrade to E4300.
My current video card is Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family.
I am using this desktop for Photoshop CS5 and illustrator CS5.
I have no clue which video card is the best for these softwares...

You might want to price out all of the upgrades verses buying a replacement PC. Your PC is almost 4 years old and memory is limited to 2GB max.
