note: I’m on windows 11. Don’t think it matters though. Hp wouldn’t let me set that in post settings.
Due to my use of very graphically intensive software, I’ve been wanting to get. Dedicated GPU for my pc. However, HPs mini ATX motherboards (I have the Erica 8643) have 4 pin slots I believe so you need to get a specific psu with a 4 pin connector. I now only have a 180 watt psu so an upgrades a must. I’m having a hard time finding this.
I want to add a low profile RTX A2000 (obscure card IK but it fits all my needs with my setup).
so I only need like a 300 watt psu. I’m not worried about upgrading in the future. I have an amd 3200g processor (likely replaced by a 3700x which uses the same power) 16gb ddr4 ram, 1tb of hdd, a dvd rom drive, and that’s about it.
anyway, I found this “brand new” psu on eBay and was wondering if it will work or if it’s a ripoff.
I’m not super techy with pc Parts especially psus.

You are very welcome, @GarryGabbage!

Here are the part # for the PSU's that HP provides:

L64961-800 - 310W

L04618-800 - 400W

L05757-800 - 500W

You can find these items by using HP PartSurfer: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=l64961-800

It appears that HP no longer supplies the 310W version.

@GarryGabbage , welcome to the Community.

The motherboard in your computer is HP proprietary. It has a 4-pin power connector instead of a standard 24-pin ATX power connector. You will have to buy any PSU upgrade from HP.  I believe they should have a 300W, 400W and 500W PSU that will be compatible with your motherboard.  I suggest that you contact HP Customer Support for help with choosing a PSU that will be compatible with your motherboard.

Thank you for this, I have read other forums about this. However, I haven't found a direct link to a Psu that would work on the HP parts surfer. Not to be pushy, but could you please provide me with one? Or at least the serial number of compatible ones? All I need is a 300 watt. Thanks.
Ps: I get most of the deal with this as I believe I have read your response to similar posts. I just would like a direct link of some kind. This is way harder than it should be and way more expensive too compared to normal atx motherboards.

Thanks. I’ll look into what hp has to say.
