Question about fans

HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Greetings,

I recently received my HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop (TG01-0xx series) and when you look at it from the back you can clearly see two fans :

  • The top one is working as it should
  •  The bottom one ( i guess the power supply fan? ) does not move at all.

Is this normal? Does the specific fan only work when its needed (i.e for higher temperatures)? I haven't received any errors or warnings yet.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you

Edit: Maybe someone with the same desktop can at least verify/deny this behavior?

Question about fans

@Dimitris_R5

Welcome to HP support community.

Yes all fans on the device work only when needed as its system managed and cannot be controlled or tweaked by the user.

I hope that helps.

Question about fans

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Newer HP PC power supplies have a passive fan mode.

The PSU fan should kick in when required.

Question about fans

Greetings to both,

Sorry for not updating the issue but I was just worried for no reason.

The PSU fan will always spin for a few seconds when you start your computer. Thats how you know its working. Other than that, it will not spin unless it is needed.

Thank you both for your answers.
